Colapz, collapsable watering can

One of the very first things I realised I needed when we first started caravanning was a watering can. I only realised this after I had to fill the toilet flush tank with 4 kettles worth of water. Over time, however, we have found a watering can a really useful item to have in the caravan arsenal. We use it to clean the windows, top up Chop’s water bowl and recently we have started to top up the Aqua Roll on a daily basis. Another essential piece of kit to have on board is a bucket. It is advised on many sites that you carry a Fire bucket filled with water outside each caravan and of course...

Removing Fridge Mould

Removing Fridge Mould

After a recent trip away I made a bit of a mistake. I forgot to prop the fridge door open, thus removing the possibility of bad smells and the threat of mould build up. In fact, the smell issue never came about. Instead, the fridge did generate quite a bit of mould around the rubber seal of the Freezer compartment.   The perfect tool for the job is the Kilrock “Blast Away Mould Brush on Gel” As a gel and because it has a brush already attached to the bottle the application is really easy. I simply held the bottle upside down and allowed the gel to lubricate the brush, while the brush...

Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Last week we were sent a tyre pressure monitoring system from Tyre Pal. Who asked us to demonstrate how easy the sensors are to install, how quick the system is to set up and configure your parameters. We recorded the installation and yes the system really is that easy. If we were not filming I’m pretty sure the whole install would have taken less than 5 minutes once the manual had been read and digested. What is great about this kit is Tyre Pal include all the equipment you will need to install and maintain your sensors. The kit is available with varying numbers of sensors allowing you to...

CamperVan Treks have created a package that allows you to take your existing caravan or motorhome on a guided tour of France and have all the stress of planning taken out for you. Today, I’m joined by Matt from CamperVan Treks who will tell us more about this package. Hi Matt, welcome. So very briefly explain what CamperVan Treks...

Filling the void with a vacuum

Filling the void with a vacuum

The problem is simple, we need a vacuum for the caravan. We would like a vacuum that can run from 12 Volts or be cordless, have a good battery life and most importantly have great performance. We already own a Black & Decker car vacuum and a Beldray stick vacuum. Both of which are terrible. We asked twitter for some advice, and the comments we got back pointed towards the Dyson V6 handheld. We already own a Dyson cordless and we are not that keen on the battery life. In genuine usage at home we manage about 5 minutes, just enough time to suck up the cat litter. The power and results are...

Toilet paper comparison

Toilet paper comparison

When reading the manufacturers handbook on the caravan toilet, we are strongly recommended to use quick dissolving toilet paper. This we have done since day one, but is this just a clever marketing ploy, or actually a necessity ? On a recent holiday I completed an experiment comparing quick dissolving and standard household toilet papers. This video has been well received, but has offered up further questions on what happens over a 24 hour period and the inclusion of “Aqua Blue” chemicals. I suspect a follow up video may be required. Anyway here is the video of the initial...
