Recipe ideas..

It’s a bit of a paradox really. I want to be able to go away and have great food, yet I don’t really want to take the entire kitchen with me to create a superb meal. I’ve recently read a book that is aimed at those who are cooking while in their Caravan. The list of equipment and store cupboard items are quite staggering! If you take the contents of the kitchen, where exactly are we going to pack the boules or swingball ? I’m penning down and creating some of the recipes that we enjoy when we are away and obviously testing them on how easy they are to create while in the caravan. It strikes...

Too cold to camp ?

The first trip of 2015. and we are spending a cold January away in the Forest of Dean. Based in Bracelands its an incredible -6 degrees outside. and we are all toasty warm. So here are some quick tips that we have picked up along the way. 2...

Christmas at Longleat

2014 was the first year we spent Christmas away from home. But we were not just spending it away – we were camping. Our Christmas adventure was set in Longleat Safari Park, where the Caravan Clubs site provided us a spectacular base for exploring the many attractions at Longleat.  ...

Take a deep breath

With a little bit of apprehension we packed everything we could think of and set off to collect the Caravan, or “Lenny” as he is now known. The storage facility is literally 15 mins away form our house and we arrived at 11am to pack the clothes, stow the food and make sure that everything was in the correct place for towing. The weather itself was a pretty grey day with showers sporadically casting their way into the storage yard. We connected up and did the lights check, the torque on the wheels and of course I measured the nose weight. As the road was wet the front of the van quickly got...
