Mug & Glassware storage
Since we have had the caravan our wine cabinet has been a mess. We only really use the cabinet for holding the glasses when we are in transit. While on site the glasses and mugs are usually on the side ready for instant beverage relief. Transporting the mugs has always included a process of packing them in a way that they won’t move around or worse break while being bumped about. I have always thought of creating a nice mug and glassware container to fit the wine cupboard and now I have finally gotten around to completing it. I used the same material I used when mounting the LEDs. This...
Read MoreLED lighting project update
Last year I shared a project that I had been wanting to revisit for a number of months. The LED lighting project for the awning was always a great success in the air awning, but in the rollaway, it just didn’t work. So I went back to the drawing board and shared how I made the new lights. I received a lot of great feedback from many subscribers and people who were now going to give it a go and make their own. So I thought I would revisit this project and give some answers to the many questions I have received. The fixing. I did comment that I wasn’t entirely sure how I was going to fix the...

Good food while on holiday is possibly one of the top 5 things to enjoy for many holidaymakers and we are no different. I really enjoy cooking when away and I’m pretty sure the family love eating whatever it is I have made. And for the keen eyed of you – you will also see that these items can be mixed up together and can create a simple dish. We organised the store cupboard items in such a way that if we were unable to visit a store...
Read More2016 year in review.
2016 has been an incredible year for us. It has seen our YouTube channel grow from nothing to a well-established source of information and entertainment for caravanning in the U.K. This year also saw us have some wonderful trips away. Some of which we shared with you on our vlog series of videos. Of course, we didn’t share everything and there is a fine line between sharing every little detail and putting the camera down. It’s a balance that we worked out this year. The year has also had some devastating low points for us personally too. But it is important that we do not dwell on them and...
Read MoreCustom LED awning lights
When we owned the air awning, I made some lighting for the awning that would be durable, easily removable, yet completely unique. I created 3 lights that housed some multi coloured (RGB) LEDs and the idea was we could choose any colour we wanted when we were in the awning. The lights worked really well, they could either be clipped into the roof or rested on the air beams. However we generally didn’t like the colour they gave off, we couldn’t “dial” in the colour that really looked warm and welcoming. But they did provide light when it was dark so we never changed them. Fast forward to the...
Read MorePower Inverters
Power inverters can solve an important issue when off-grid in a caravan or motorhome. It’s a way of generating mains power from your battery for a moderately short term period of time. We have created a video that discusses power inverters. From how they work, why you might need one to some things to look out for when purchasing an inverter. In the video, I reference this blog post and descriptions of some real world examples. So, watch the video then carry on to the bottom of this page for 2 examples of real world applications. Before we start we need to set the scene. Let’s...
