Its always nice to have a sneaky peak into someone else’s caravan. Just to see what accessories are in use, how the caravan is laid out and how the space is utilised. The awning is one such area where given a blank canvas many have different needs and requirements for this use of space. Broadly speaking everyone has a similar set of requirements from an awning. Last year I shared a project that I had been wanting to revisit for a number of months. The LED lighting project for the awning was always a great success in the air awning, but in the rollaway, it just didn’t work. So I went back to the drawing board and shared how I made the new lights. I received a lot of great feedback from many subscribers and people who were now going to give it a go and make their own. Custom LED awning lights

When we owned the air awning, I made some lighting for the awning that would be durable, easily removable, yet completely unique. I created 3 lights that housed some multi coloured (RGB) LEDs and the idea was we could choose any colour we wanted when we were in the awning. The lights worked really well, they could either be clipped into the roof or rested on the air beams. However we generally didn’t like the colour they gave off, we couldn’t “dial” in the colour that really looked warm and welcoming.
